Day 12… Return To Childhood Part 2
So, it looks like the news blackout and returning to reading your favorite childrens books is doing the trick, huh? : )
Loads of great comments both here in the blog and via email telling me that people are already feeling their hearts lighten and that they’re feeling more optimistic, having more fun and just generally feeling happier than they have in ages.
That’s great!
Want more?
Try this:
Think back to your favorite kids movies of all time. You know, those ones that always filled you with wonder and awe when you watched ‘em. Those ones that sparked your imagination and really got you excited.
They were great weren’t they?
They always left you with a feel-good, happy, warm fuzzy feeling, right?
Let’s get some of that back, shall we?
Today I want you to make a list of your fave movies and, without delay… go out and get one. Buy it, hire it or just dig it out from the bottom of your cupboards, I don’t care. Just get your hands on one and watch it.
While you’re at it, get a few more prepared for the next few days too and really chill out with this return to childhood exercise.
Here’s a few of my favorite ones that I always really enjoyed watching with my own children to get those cogs turning…
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
Disney’s Aladdin
Disney’s Little Mermaid
ET
Matilda
Charlie and The Chocolate Factory (The Gene Wilder Version)
The Sinbad Movies
Or Cartoons!
Bugs Bunny
The Peanuts
Woody Woodpecker
The Rugrats
There are hundreds if not thousands of titles to choose from so you shouldn’t have too much difficulty finding something, right?
The point is, you find something that YOU connect with, that you remember enjoying as a kid and give yourself that experience again, ok?
“What’s the point of all this??”
If you’re wondering what all this has to do with achieving your goals over the next 88 days then the answer is…
…EVERYTHING!
You see, most of the reason that we don’t have what we want is simply because we’ve started to think small. We’ve become accustomed to thinking of things in terms of their costs and limitations.
Kids NEVER do this.
They focus on what they want, go into their heads and imagineer ways of getting them.
Having this week of return to childhood exercises is a great way to open up YOUR imagination again and get you focused on the fun and wonder of pursuing your goals rather than making then super-serious, boring chores.
Life’s too short. Have fun WHILE you’re making your dreams come true rather than waiting to get them before you can be happy!
Truth, joy and love

P.S – What movies will YOU watch??

This is great! My best friend recently had a little girl and we were talking about the same thing: how much fun it was going to be revisiting our own childhoods by reading her stories and digging out all these films when she is old enough. I don’t need to wait now, I am going to get stuck straight in!!
I will be watching The Wizard of Oz, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Peter Pan, and The Aristocats.
As for cartoons, who remembers Paddington Bear, Roobarb and Custard and Willo the Wisp???

Dax,
This return to childhood added to my 100 list. It’s amazing how one 5 minute Popeye cartoon can spark the imagination. The cool thing is that as an adult we can act on these great ideas that pop into our heads. It all came back to me. When I was little I would have an idea and how I wished that I were taller, bigger, stronger or could drive so that I could take care of those desires as a kid. Well, I have no excuse now. I’m acting on them!
Popeye lifted his pants pulled his shoulders back and said “well as I always say, nothing ventured, nothing gained”, and he proceeded into the dark cave of Sindbad(Bluto)
Have fun!

Dax,
Think & Grow Rich is so well written. It’s like a manual for entrepreneurs. All the stuff I have read and listened to can all be summed up with the secret. It’s like when I finally got in tip top shape and made it a lifestyle. There is no secret. My mind’s eye see’s nothing else but being in super health and shape. No one can convince me otherwise.
I’m about to unleash this concept with regards to my business success. My business can be in super health and shape. It is that easy. My moment of enlightenment. Wow, I’m off the charts with joy!
Much Success to All,
Mike G.

I’ve been watching cartoons in recent days and have learned some valuable life lessons:
* “I yam what I yam” is the ultimate self affirmation.
* Bugs Bunny knew exactly how to foil his tormentors (and Elmer Fudd) ~ make light of the situation!
* You can be flattened, smashed, and in all ways defeated by every ACME contraption conceivable and still live to see another day.
* Eating your spinach keeps you on top of your game, ready to defeat the Blutos of the world.
* Even someone as seemingly insignificant as a mouse can be mighty!
* For every Tom there is Jerry, every Bugs an Elmer, and every Popeye an Olive Oyl.
Peace all!
