Get Up… Your Dreams Aren’t On The Ground!
Well, here we are, already 83 days into 2010 with 83 days of effort, work and, dare I say it, sacrifice toward achieving the goals that will help you to build the life of your dreams.
It’s gone quick hasn’t it?
Too quick maybe : )
I don’t know about you, but it certainly feels to me like New Year’s eve was yesterday and yet here we are, mere days away from April.
Where did the time go, I wonder?
Now, if you’ve been taking action steps toward making your goals come to life you’re probably not too concerned with how fast time is going by. You probably measure your passage through days, weeks, months and even years more by the the things you’ve accomplished or are in the process of accomplishing than by the numbers on a calendar, right?
That’s good.
That’s as it should be.
But if you’ve found the months running away from you faster than ever and yet still feel that nothing in your life is changing then you, my friend, have a problem.
It’s a problem that most people face from time to time. I know I do. But it’s one that MUST be solved if you’re ever to be, do and have the things in life that you dream of.
The problem?
You’ve stopped.
For whatever reason, life has gotten in the way, you’ve stumbled, tripped, fallen and instead of getting up off the ground, dusting yourself off and continuing your journey, you remained exactly where you fell and told yourself something along the lines of “I’ll never make it, it’s impossible, I’m a failure!”
If that sounds like you then you’re not alone.
Most people feel that way from time to time but the successful people, those really happy, really satisfied, really grateful people know a little secret that most of us don’t.
They know that dreams aren’t on the ground.
What does that mean?
Well, it means that they realise that falling flat on your face from time to time is just part of the ‘game’ we’re all playing and that whilst we can fail AT something we’re attempting because of a poor strategy, lack of focus or lack of knowledge, WE are not failures ourselves.
Unless…
Unless we stay on the ground.
You see, the only failure is failure to get up, dust off and pick up where you left off with a new strategy. Time is going to keep on passing regardless of whether you get up or stay on the ground in the dirt, isn’t it? Yet the difference in the quality of your life when viewed from these positions is vastly different.
One makes you a conspirator in your success and the other makes you a victim.
And you get to choose which position you want to adopt.
So what will it be?
Stay on the ground or get to your feet?
If it’s getting to your feet then use the comments area to give me ONE example of how you’re going to get to your feet and take massive action on your goal.
Just one.
You can do that, right?

Thanks for this blog Dax…actually most days I run around trying to get things done, get to my goals, but at the end of the day sadly, I feel I have accomplished nothing. So I have been talking to my husband, and taking his and your advice together, I have decided that I really need to schedule my time and stick to it..I have tried this in the past but life always throws something in messing me up..but I need to decide which of those things is a emergency and which of those I can put in my schedule..(or just say no to : ) anyway I think scheduling my day will help and believing in myself (I know that is two things but I need them both ) that I can reach my goals and do all the things I want to…and I need not to worry about failure because not doing or trying, is an automatic failure..if I finish and fail at least I tried and that is an accomplishment in itself..thanks again, God Bless!

Thanks for the blog, Dax. One of my goals for this year was to start writing – something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I have begun a writing course and have sent some things off to magazines. Sadly, everything so far has been rejected but I have, as you advise, picked myself up, dusted myself down and kept on writing. I hope I get something printed soon, though!

This was a GREAT blog!
I feel like I have fallen a lot of times over the past 83 days. I have a goal of being in Beachbody’s Success Club by the end of this month, and it feels like I am so far away, but I know that I can do this! I have a new capture page that I am creating now to share Shakeology and a set of pages that I am using behind to capture more detailed information from the customer. My personal deadline is to finish by Friday (even with my full time job and my family obligations)!!!
Getting back up, Dax!! Thanks so much!!
